Summer Break Does Not Exist

In School we are gifted the wonderful weeks off called, in my day, Christmas and Easter Break, as well as 3 whole months off for summer break. What the world did not prepare us for, is when you enter the workforce, there is no such thing as summer break.

It is nearing the conclusion of June, today is the first day of summer, and as I gaze forward to the months ahead, the look just like the months behind me; 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. I did however score a couple three day vacations, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor day...all of which are paid holidays. I also was able to get the Friday off before my birthday. I plan to go camping in San Simeon, Ca, tour Hearst Castle, eat a nice restaurant in Morro Bay, swim in the Pacific ocean, laugh at the Elephant Seals and enjoy the long drives! So my summer vacation will be short 3 day weekends here and there, and a lot work in between.
