I went to OC Fair yesterday! I went with my husband, our good friend and his wife & daughter and our trainer and his wife and son. The 8 of us had a blast!
We pet pigs, goats and sheep! We saw giant cows and baby calfs. We talked with a gentlemen farmer about Oxen and their incredible ability to pull heavy things! We walked around the shopping center for unlimited opportunities to buy things you don't need and won't use!
FOOD!
The fair is known for fried food, BBQ, huge items and pure goodness. Here is the list of things I ate:
Freshly sliced potato chips - lightly salted
BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich with Fries
12" Corndog
Drumstick - vanilla ice cream, chocolate coating, peanut topping in a sugar cone.
Of course I did not eat all of this all at once if that's what you're thinking! Now, my husband and I have been on a strict diet and for 6 days we eat very conservatively and healthy and on the 7th day we have a "Cheat Day" where we can eat the not-so-healthy foods! And as you may have guessed; yesterday was our cheat day. And to save on money and cost - we shared!
Overall the day was fantastic! I love watching young children find true amazement and fascination with everything at the fair. I must say that I lived vicariously though my friends' kids! :) Watching them have fun was fun enough for me! I was also jealous of their ability to take a nap!
In recap: I believe we walked a total of over 4 miles (I in flip flops), I have a massive sunburn on my shoulders and upper arms, the back of my knees (OUCH) and the tops of my feet (weird). I got home and was completely tired and exhausted.
What a great day!
