Join my Team & the ALS Association in our Walk to Defeat ALS

2013 Walk to Defeat ALS
Register for the Orange County Walk to Defeat ALS®
On 10/21/2012, join hundreds of others in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease. As you know, there are an infinite number of reasons to participate and you likely have your own personal reason that motivated you to walk in the past. This year, in light of new ALS research discoveries, there are 5 important reasons why we need your support. Join us today!
5 Reasons to Walk to Defeat ALS:
  1. Thanks to the success of the last few annual Walks, the Golden West Chapter has been able to increase services provided to the families affected ALS! Donations raised by walkers each year make it possible to care for those living with ALS and support multi-disciplinary clinics.
  2. Today, we are closer to a cure than ever before! Dollars raised by last year’s walk were used to make giant strides in ALS research. Now, we have a clearer understanding of how the disease works, how future treatments will help and how to end it once and for all.
  3. Tomorrow, 16 people in the US will be diagnosed with ALS. The next day, about 16 more people will get similar news and roughly another 16 the day after that. EVERY DAY, an average of 16 people are diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease in the United States.
  4. Military veterans are twice as likely to be diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s Disease. By signing up for Walk to Defeat ALS, you’ll help decrease this risk for our nation’s bravest men and women.
  5. ALS is one of the worst diseases of modern times. As a community we must increase public awareness of its atrocities and the urgency to find a treatment and cure.
Supporters like you often have their own personal reasons for participating in the Walk to Defeat ALS. And this year, we’ve made it easy to share those stories with your fellow walkers, other ALS supporters and your potential donors.
Once registered, each walker will receive a unique online toolkit to help spread awareness and share your experience with ALS. Now, YOUR reason for participating can motivate others to get involved too!
